Last night (and accompanied by ex-superstar intern Mike) we went to current-superstar intern Matt’s comedy night The Crying Duck to see if he’s as funny as he constantly says he is. Turns out, he actually is. Here’s a little glimpse of him in action:
Matt acted as host and compared the night and introduced a wide variety of acts ranging from the especially peculiar Josh Ross to the flamboyant Stephen Bailey and a chap called Daniel Simonsen – difficult to describe, but worth seeing if you get a chance.
Had a free burger (OK two) and several belly laughs – was a good night and nice to see young Matthew in his element. Good balance of male and female comics and the sort of relaxed and intimate environment that seemed to encourage some experimentation and the bravado to go out on a limb and try new material.
We’re planning the next trip soon and if you’re in the Kings Cross area on a Monday night, you could do a lot worse than pop in upstairs at Canal 125.
