Just when you think you know what you’re doing, Google changes the rules.
In my year here at Neil’s Recruitment I have watched companies adjust to the Penguin and Panda updates by ending link-building habits, saying goodbye to SEO tricks and start producing quality content. The latest spanner in the works is Hummingbird.
When Hummingbird came into effect a couple of months ago people in the market seemed to be a bit miffed. Fear not though loyal readers, I have come across a really useful article which I hope will enlighten you as it has me. Click here to have a read of it over on the Econsultancy blog.
It seems the key is to understand the intent of the searcher and then structuring and linking your content in such a way that mirrors your seacher’s intended digital journey. I really like the phrase “information architecture”.
So have a read, then have a think and then go back to the drawing board.
